Information Technology Lead

Mark Nestor

Dr. Mark Nestor currently serves as Chief Information Officer for both Suffolk University and Curry College. He has held this joint position since 2022.
 
Prior to joining Suffolk and Curry, Dr. Nestor served as Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia from 2011-2022. Dr. Nestor began his career in higher education at Miami Dade College, where he was the Campus Chief Information Officer at the Medical Campus. He has also previously worked in K-12 education.
 

Dr. Nestor’s teaching experience includes adjunct roles at Chestnut Hill College, The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Barry University and Miami Dade College.

Dr. Nestor has a BS in Journalism from Kent State University, an MS in Publishing from Pace University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware.

Gary

Institutional Data Lead

Gary Fireman

Dr. Gary Fireman is the Associate Provost and Chief Data Officer at Suffolk University Boston, Massachusetts. Integral to his responsibilities is the oversight of the Office of Institutional Research which is responsible for data integrity, data reporting, data visualization, survey development, evaluation and predictive analytics supporting strategy development. Prior to serving as Associate Provost, Gary was the Chair of the Psychology Department. He has also served as the Director of Clinical Training for Suffolk’s nationally accredited clinical psychology doctoral program. Before joining Suffolk, he served as the Director of the clinical doctoral program and of the mental health training clinic at Texas Tech University. Gary has pursued his interest in leadership in higher education through the Management and Leadership in Education program at Harvard University Graduate School of Education and through his leadership role at Suffolk University. He has a PhD in clinical psychology with postdoctoral training in developmental psychology. 

Emergency Management Lead

Christian Cunnie

Christian Cunnie is a career emergency management practitioner and currently serves as the Director of Emergency Management at Suffolk University in Boston, where he oversees emergency management, threat assessment, and global safety and security programs. Prior to joining Suffolk, he held multiple roles at the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), first as a Local Coordinator, serving as the Commonwealth’s emergency liaison for 38 municipalities in Southeastern Massachusetts. He was later promoted to Public Information Program Supervisor, leading statewide crisis communications, media relations, and public preparedness initiatives.
Christian holds a B.S. from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst and a M.A. in Homeland Security and Emergency Management at Northeastern University. He is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security Emergence program and FEMA’s National Emergency Management Advanced Academy.
He currently serves as Government Affairs Advisor for the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Region 1. In 2024, he was named to IAEM’s 40 Under 40 list and, in 2025, recognized as Region 1 Emergency Manager of the Year.

Rashida Constantine

 

Rashida Constantine serves as Chief Human Resources Officer at Suffolk University, where she provides strategic leadership over the University’s human capital agenda in support of institutional excellence, academic success, and organizational sustainability. A trusted executive partner, Rashida advises senior leadership and works closely with stakeholders across the University to strengthen culture, governance, and workforce effectiveness.

In her role, Rashida oversees all aspects of human resources, including talent strategy, organizational design, total rewards, employee and labor relations, compliance, HR operations, and workforce planning. She plays a central role in aligning people’s strategy with Suffolk’s mission and long-term priorities, ensuring that employees are supported, engaged, and positioned to thrive in a dynamic higher education environment.

Rashida brings extensive experience across higher education, the public sector, and large-scale organizations, with deep expertise in navigating complex, regulated, and unionized environments. She is known for her steady leadership, sound judgment, and ability to balance institutional stewardship with a people-centered approach.

Grounded in the belief that people are an institution’s greatest asset. Rashida leads with clarity, integrity, and purpose, advancing thoughtful change while honoring the values, traditions, and community that define Suffolk University.

Rashida holds a master's degree in Business Administration.

Tom Dorer

Thomas Dorer is General Counsel for Suffolk University, having previously served as a principal at Jackson Lewis; vice president, general counsel and secretary at the University of Hartford; general counsel at West Virginia University; associate counsel at the University of Massachusetts; an associate at Dow, Lohnes & Albertson; and a law clerk to the Hon. Anne E. Thompson of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.  He received a BA from Brown University, an EdM from Harvard University and a JD from the University of California, Berkeley
